About Dr. Steve Tutty

Dr. Steve Tutty is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in child, forensic and neuropsychology, with more than 30 years of clinical and forensic practice.

Started in Counseling

Dr. Tutty's first decade was spent counseling, mostly children with ADHD and autism and adults with depression. Working week to week with children and their parents taught him what recommendations families can realistically follow. That experience still shapes how he writes reports: concrete, prioritized, and written for the people who have to use them.

ADHD Research

He co-authored a randomized clinical trial with pediatrician Harlan Gephart, MD, on building behavioral and social skills in children newly diagnosed with ADHD, published in the Journal of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics in 2003. Read about the study. He has also published randomized trials on depression care with Greg Simon, MD, in JAMA and the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology.

Why New York

Dr. Tutty has long roots on the East Coast. His adult children moved to New York for college, and after years of visits the city has come to feel like home. When he isn't working, he's often hiking along the Hudson or in the Catskills.
